Drones 2020 The Good Guys

Drones 2020! Drones are doing remarkably well for us humans both as great toys and tools. Soldiers use them in battle for short range reconnaissance, missile attacks, spying on enemy positions. They are used in delivery of small packages, search and rescue operations, filming and photography and just about any kind of flying for fun, professional work like site survey for builders, geographic mapping and more. Featured below are several drones of 2020.

Drones The Bad Guys

Drones could play the bad-ass character as well. Take the role played by the military drones called the Predator and The Reaper.  These guys could deliver very hot cargo like Hellfire missiles that could turn a good sized target into ashes or millions of pieces. Now that is a bad bad drone! Meaning too bad for the target or the receiving end of their payloads.  The Predator and Reaper drones can carry 4 Hellfire missiles and two additional 500-pound bombs.  They can fly as high as 60,000 feet and be in the air for better than 30-40 hours! Sad to say they are NOT powered by batteries…yet!

Drones 2020 The Better Guys

Now let us take a look at the better drones. Okay, drones can do many constructive things. They can take pictures, deliver packages, carry human passengers, create super aerial videos, spy on shady neighbors, catch intruders, serve as sensors as for weather monitoring. I mean the uses of drones are endless in the hands of really creative minds.

Below is Wisk by Kitty Hawk, a 100% battery powered drone with the following specs:

Cruising altitude: Operates between 500 ft to 3,000 ft (150 m to 900 m) above the ground

Maximum altitude: 10,000 ft (3.04 km)

VTOL flight: 12 propellers

Forward flight: 1 pusher propeller

Hi,

thanks for sharing this article about Drones. I am curious to see how the technical development of drones will evolve over time and how they will impact our everyday life. So keep posting, I am curious about the future.

    Hello there Fabian!
It will not be too hard to predict what the future holds for drones. There is a very wide range of uses for civilians and the military. They can be used in wars, espionage, taking pictures, delivery services etc etc. And their size range from a tiny bug with cameras to huge passenger drones. Their range as we speak are already impressive. A drone took care of one the most wanted terrorist! Hard to tell what else will be produced by these ever creative brains around the world! The possibilities are immense!

    Thanks for dropping by!

Hi, this is an interesting post. I am looking for a starter drone for my partner’s birthday present. Which one would be a good option?

    Hi Catherine!

Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving your comments! For a starter toy drone I would recommend one that is on the cheaper side. Why? A lot of practice time and a lot of crashes will happen before one gets to be a good drone operator! More crashes more damage. And these guys are expensive. Start out with practice in mind and tons of crashes against trees, buildings etc.

    Good luck!

Fantastic read and pleasing to the eyes visually. You’ve recommended the best drones for 2020. It make me smile when I looked at the ‘bad guys’ drone, as my other half will love this one with it’s features.

I might get him for his birthday next time.

Thank you for sharing your recommendations with us.

Best wishes
